The premier earlier this year said the Sask. Party’s victory in the Athabasca riding was a sign that voters thought the government was on the right track. Saskatchewan Liberal Party’s Jeff Walters had 77 votes in his first major challenge at the ballot box since becoming the party’s leader late last year.
Prior to the vote Monday, the Saskatchewan Party held 48 seats, the Saskatchewan NDP had 11, with one independent and one vacant seat — the latter being in Saskatoon Meewasin.
