After a three-year absence, Goose Fair returned to the Forest Recreation Ground last week. It's been a time of misery and hardship since the last event in 2019, with plans over the last few years upended by the pandemic.

With hundreds of thousands of people expected to have attended once the fair comes to an end on Sunday, October 9, we've spoken to those living close to Goose Fair - to find out what living nearby the noisy event is like after three years without it on their doorstep.Katie Hember, 44, who lives in Austen Avenue, said: "I just love it and I think it's amazing living near [to the fair].

"There's a lot of litter too. There are bins all over the place so you just wonder why in this day and age people are letting their kids throw rubbish onto the floor.
