Breakfast radio duo Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller scooped the top gong for the fourth time at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.
It was a night of both familiar and first-time winners at the 34th Australian Commercial Radio Awards held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, outgoing 3AW broadcaster Neil Mitchell won best talk presenter for the eighth time, and Abbie Chatfield was named the inaugural podcast host of the year for herFourth time’s a charm for WSFM’s Jonesy & Amanda as they take out best on-air team at the 34th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards.The 71-year-old Mitchell was also awarded for best news event coverage, of the Victorian floods. In September, Mitchell confirmed he would retire after 33 years on-air.
On the subject of Kyle and Jackie O, they may not have held on to their best on-air crown, but the pair didn’t go home empty-handed. This year’s Hall of Fame had a distinctly Sunshine-state flavour, with two veterans of Queensland radio – Laurel Edwards and Steve “Pricey” Price – both being inducted.
