The new rule will impact millions of UK Netflix users
Netflix has explained how it will stop people in different households from using the same accounts to watch shows and movies.
The Netflix site read: "When a device outside of your household signs in to an account or is used persistently, we may ask you to verify that device before it can be used to watch Netflix or switch your Netflix household. We do this to confirm that the device using the account is authorized to do so."Who can I share my Netflix account with? Your account can still be used by anyone who lives in your home and they can still make their own profiles and stream from their own devices.
Watching Netflix when outside of the house – such as streaming on a mobile device when travelling – will still be allowed, but Netflix will require you to verify that device. Will this affect my subscription? Netflix still allows several devices in the same household to share an account, as well as letting users attach several different user profiles to that account. The number of devices able to be linked to one account depends on your subscription package.
