The Chosen One is a Netflix coming-of-age show based on the comic book series American Jesus. The Chosen One followed the story of Jodie, a twelve-year-old boy who became a legend in his small town when he appeared to display Christ-like powers.
Is Jodie The Antichrist In The Chosen One’s Ending? The Chosen One’s action-packed ending began when Carlos took his own life and Angelo tried to shoot Jodie in revenge. Instead, he hit Jodie’s friend, Tuka, killing him. The local townspeople were split into two factions that both viewed Jodie as a powerful entity. Meanwhile, Jodie brought Tuka back from the dead and departed from his hometown after addressing all of his old friends.
Why Did Angelo Shoot Tuka? One of the pivotal moments that set all of this in motion was the shooting of Tuka. Grief-stricken by the suicide of his father, Angelo tried to shoot Jodie. He blamed Jodie for reviving Carlos in the first place since his father never seemed the same after he was brought back to life. However, the bully missed Jodie when a member of the crowd pushed him, causing the bullet to hit Tuka instead.
However, the exact nature and limits of Jodie’s powers weren't clear. While he did turn water into wine and seemingly healed his friend’s eyesight earlier in the series, it is not clear how real these miracles were nor is it clear how much the pills Jodie took throughout his childhood dulled his abilities.
