Nets Sign Yuta Watanabe - RealGM Wiretap

The Brooklyn Nets have signed Yuta Watanabe. The Nets had six open roster spots on the 20-man offseason roster prior to adding Watanabe.

Watanabe is a four-year NBA veteran. The small forward spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Raptors after starting his career with the Memphis Grizzlies. During the 2020-21 season, on a Raptors team that struggled while playing out the year in Tampa, Florida, Watanabe played well. He appeared in 50 games and averaged 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game.

Last season, Watanabe battled some injuries and was on a deeper Toronto squad. He appeared in only 38 games and averaged 4.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest.
