A new 75-tonne footbridge has opened at the train station in Uddingston as part of the station's transformation plans.

The old footbridge will be removed this weekend, and there will be temporary changes to parking on the Platform 2 side overnight to allow access for a crane.The next phase of work is to upgrade the station's power supply to support the two new lifts set to open to the public later this summer.Once it is finished, the new structure will make it easier for those with mobility difficulties to use the station, as well as people with bikes, prams or heavy luggage.
