). The chamber was filled with water from the fish facility system and agarose was removed along the optic path of the lateral laser beam and around the tail of the animal . In some larvae, the eyes were also freed from the agarose. After embedding, fish were left recovering for 1–6 hours before the imaging session. The agarose around the tail, caudal to the pectoral fins, was cut away with a fine scalpel to allow for tail movement.
