The ABC has revealed James Glenday will replace Michael Rowland on News Breakfast after the prominent host finishes up on the program this week.

Prior to presenting the 7pm news bulletin in Canberra, a role he has held for two years, Glenday was the ABC's National Affairs Editor at Parliament House. Murphy, who will also begin her new sport presenting role on January 20 next year, joined the ABC in 2018. "The new line-up of James and Bridget with Nate, Catherine, Emma and Charles will continue Brekky’s great tradition of providing the most robust, trusted, hefty, interesting and entertaining news in Australian media each morning."
