It's brimming with local artists
Following a big win for a Nottingham charity music festival, organisers have announced new artists for the 2023 event. Beat the Streets, which aims to raise money for Framework Housing Association, won a national award for its positive community impact.
The festival has raised £320,000 for the charity since its launch in 2018. Next year's line-up is brimming with local talent from across the East Midlands, something that has become a staple of the event. Jerub has been making music with a wide range of influences since his first single in 2019, and has garnered much support from BBC Introducing East Midlands.
The funds raised by Beat The Streets so far have gone towards keeping the Sneinton Hermitage shelter open all year round, accommodating more than 60 high-risk service users. They have also employed two full-time mental health workers to provide much-needed support to more than 1,500 service users with complex needs.
