STAFF REPORT Burlington donated $5,000 to Girard Primary School this week in honor of its new store opening in Dothan.
The donation was made through a partnership with the non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org. Funds will go toward school supplies to ensure students at Girard have the necessary materials and tools to succeed now and in the future. A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org reached out to the district and helped secure the donation for Girard. It will support 27 classrooms with new supplies for regular classrooms as well as areas like art, music, physical education, media center, and special education.
"On behalf of the Dothan City Schools and Girard Primary School, I would like to welcome our new local Burlington store to Dothan and thank them for their generous donation through their partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org," Sue Clark, principal of Girard Primary School, said."Our teachers are so excited to purchase the tools they need for their students this year."
People are also reading… Each time Burlington opens a new store, it adopts and funds local classrooms in the community. The new Burlington in Dothan is now open at 3102 Ross Clark Circle.
