Channel Nine’s veteran news director sensationally quit the company earlier this year following allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards a female staff member, News Corp has reported. Former Nine Network director of news and current affairs Darren Wick quit the company on March 15 after a long period of leave starting in mid-January.
Sky News also claimed there was another alleged incident of inappropriate behaviour in 2019. However, Channel Nine said that no formal complaint was made in regards to this incident. Responding to questions from Sky News over whether there had been an active effort to suppress the allegations against Wick, Nine’s Director of Communications & Public Relations Victoria Buchan said “nothing has been swept under the carpet or covered up.
