Queensland introduces a raft of new coronavirus restrictions on the Gold Coast, after two of the state's newest infections were found to be from the region. So what's being reimposed and how will it impact celebration plans?

Queensland has introduced new coronavirus restrictions across the Gold Coast, after two of the state's three new coronavirus cases announced on Friday were found to be from the region.two corrective services recruits from Pimpama on the Gold Coast contracted the infectionChief Health Officer Jeannette Young said the pair had spent time in the Gold Coast community, prompting restrictions in place across Greater Brisbane to be extended southwards.

Aged care facilities and hospitals now have restrictions on visitors, and all staff across these facilities are required to wear personal protective equipment at all times.Queensland's 2020 Year 12 students were dealt another blow when the Chief Health Officer also announced the cancellation of this year's public schoolies celebrations on the Gold Coast.

Matt Lloyd, CEO of schoolies.com, said the company had made a number of changes to the week and would implement COVID-Safe plans to ensure it could safely go ahead.
