The Department for Work and Pensions has made £500 million in funding available to help families across England
The DWP has confirmed a new Cost of Living Payment which is being made available via the Household Support Fund. The money – £500m – is currently being allocated to local councils which have now began to announce exactly how they will use it to help struggling families.
Speaking in his Spring Budget in March 2024, Mr Hunt explained that ‘now was not the time to stop the targeted help’ and announced £500 million of funding would be made available.HSF allocates funding to local councils which can then be used to help low-income residents in the area with cost of living payments, vouchers and more.
What support can I get? It’s up to each council how they will use the funding to provide support to residents.
