Arcturus or XBB.1.16 is the new COVID mutation that is showing new symptoms in those infected, particularly children.
And that has brought us a new variant.
According to reports, that new variant — XBB.1.16 or Arcturus — could be more transmissible than other omicron strains.“looks very much like XBB.1.5, which is the dominant variant in the U.S. and has been the dominant variant here and in many other countries for some time.” But, the WHO has reportedly labeled XBB.1.16 as a “variant of interest” because it is “circulating widely” and has mutations that could “impact its ability to spread and evade immunity,” according to Today.
