Democrats have pointed out that Mehmet Oz, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, lived in New Jersey until he entered the race.
Dr. Mehmet Oz is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. This may be one prestigious award that Dr. Mehmet Oz, the television personality-turned-Pennsylvania political candidate, doesn’t want to win right now.It was the latest effort by supporters of Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, to highlight the out-of-state ties of his Republican opponent.
“I know a New Jerseyan when I see one,” Pascrell wrote in his nomination letter. “As Dr. Oz’s Garden State congressman and neighbor, I fully attest to Dr. Oz’s New Jerseyness.” Oz won the Republican nomination with the support of former President Donald Trump and is running to succeed retiring Republican Patrick Toomey. The winner of the November election may well determine which party controls the Senate come January.
Today I’ve officially nominated my North Jersey constituent Dr. Oz for membership in the New Jersey Hall of Fame, the highest honor there is for Garden Staters. Congratulations Dr. Oz!
