The man is believed to have been infectious in the community for a number of days and may have travelled in NSW.
Anyone who spits, coughs or sneezes, or threatens to do so, can be given an on the spot fine of $1,378 under the direction.
She said police will be conducting compliance checks to ensure businesses are complying with the regulations. The sign businesses will display if proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required upon entry in Queensland.
