Autumn is traditionally a season of plenty, and Southern California restaurants are responding with plenty of new menu items. Innovations include a surprising debut at California Pizza Kitchen and a new concept from Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar.California Pizza Kitchen has added what it calls its first-ever burger to its menu. It’s called the West Coast Burger. Lemon-Herb Parmesan Chicken is a new entree at the Cheesecake Factory. Southern Pimento Cheese Dip is a new menu item at Polly’s Pies.
CPK is promoting the burger with a “pizza boycotts.” Dine-in guests who spend more than $20 and order something other than pizza will receive a coupon for a 7-inch pizza that can be redeemed on their next visit. They have to become CPK Rewards members to qualify, and the offer is good for one pizza per check. The promotion lasts through Oct. 31.The Calabasas-based chain added more than a dozen items, plus cocktails, to its already long menu early in September.
