Dodgers score four runs in two different innings against Sean Manaea in rout to open Padres' first full series with trade deadline additions
It was a lot like many games they have played against the Dodgers.
The Padres have lost the season series against the Dodgers for 11 years running and have dropped six of eight against them this season.“These guys have the best record in the National League, and there’s only so many games left,” Padres manager Bob Melvin said of the Dodgers before the game. “So every series is gonna be big, especially against a team like this. It’s a little different lineup for us. ... We’ll see how we match up against their ace as well.
A walk by Trent Grisham with two outs in the seventh gave the Padres their next baserunner. They got one other hit and scored a run in the ninth.
