'Years ago when we were growing up you were to scared to do anything because the police were around all the time, you couldn't even ride your bikes without lights on'
Residents have shared their thoughts after police force have new base in the town hall to get to incidents quicker. Due to a number of anti-social behaviour incidents in recent months Newark Police have been increasing their presence and patrols in around the town in order to get to incidents as quick as possible.
However, whilst many feel this is a "good idea" others are not convinced that it will make a difference. A retired 62 year old from Newark said: "I think it's a good idea because it is getting out of hand. It won't stop it though. It's alright them being there but they need to be out here where people can see them.
The 69 year old continued: "Stealing is getting rife too." When it's busy in the market they should be busy."
