has put forward the the proposal so pedestrians can stay safe in the city while developments are underway.The City of Melbourne has put forward a proposal to limit cars in the CBD.
The restrictions will not get rid of all cars but may include single lane bans or closures during peak times.The public is able to give feedback before the council votes whether or not to endorse the proposal next month.Continue reading

Acting Commissioner Fewtrell provides an update on Sydney CBD fireFire and Rescue NSW Acting Commissioner Jeremy Fewtrell has addressed the fallout from a significant CBD fire, emphasising that ongoing safety measures and engineering assessments are necessary due to the instability of the affected structures. 'We have had to evacuate the building ... because of the concerns the engineers had about the wall at the rear of the fire building and the way that that was bulging and potentially heading towards the adjoining unit block,' Mr Fewtrell said during a media conference on Friday. 'The building to the right of the fire scene ... that's had the power cut off as part of the electricity authorities' work to cut the power to the fire buildings. 'They were all interconnected, and they couldn't do it all without closing that one off.'
