Newly founded AFL club Tasmania has already crested 50,000 members, and counting, just a matter of hours after revealing their mascot and team colours. The Devils had a goal of reaching 40,000 members — by October next year. They got there within two hours of their launch on Monday night and were at 50,000 before 10pm.
officially launches 19th team in Tasmania. For comparison, expansion clubs Greater Western Sydney and the Gold Coast had 33,036 and 23,359 members respectively at the end of 2023. The distinction between the two northern states’ teams and their Tasmanian counterpart, of course, is the price. — foundation Devils memberships are currently just $10, compared with normal prices for the Suns and Giants.
