New York has reported a 16% decline in opioid deaths by rachsandl
: The number of opioid overdoses in New York State decreased for the for the first time in a decade, Governor Andrew CuomoMonday, attributing the decline to a statewide push to increase treatment beds and increased federal funding for services such as mobile treatment, telehealth and naloxone kits.
It is the first time since 2009 opioid deaths have decreased in the state, providing some optimism for state officials who have been combating the steep rise in opioid fatalities over the last decade. and passed by the legislature in 2016. Since then, the state has added 493 treatment beds and 27 Recovery Centers .
