Former Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee Chair Michael Danby says New Zealand’s relationship with China seems to be “non-partisan” with the Ardern-Hipkins Labour party and National Opposition.

“Relationship with China is something that seems to be non-partisan, they’re pro-China, both the existing Ardern-Hipkins Labour party and in the National Opposition,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Let’s hope particularly on race issues, he doesn’t go too far along the Ardern-line – she was terrible – I don’t think the New Zealanders would deny – they certainly were really bad when it came to international human rights issues that other countries took up.”
