The country's health ministry says it has 'temporarily' paused travel from Western Australia as it awaits further information from Australian health authorities about three new coronavirus cases in Perth.
The New Zealand government has paused flights from Western Australia after three new coronavirus cases were detected in Perth.The decision is in response to three new cases detected in Perth"Ministry of Health officials have temporarily paused direct flights from Western Australia to New Zealand following new positive COVID-19 cases in Perth," a New Zealand health ministry update said.
"Ministry officials have conducted a rapid public health assessment for New Zealand, and have determined scheduled direct flights from Western Australia to New Zealand should be immediately paused." The ministry said it is assessing the situation and is awaiting on further information from Australian health officials.who has tested positive to COVID-19 and was potentially infectious in the community for four days.
State health authorities said the guard, who recently received his first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, worked on the same floor as two other positive cases from the United States and Indonesia.Two of the seven people currently living with the man who worked at the Pan Pacific Hotel have tested positive to COVID-19.
