This weekend a convoy travelled from Narrabri, via the Upper Hunter to a rally in Newcastle, opposing Santos' $3.6 billion gas developments in the Pilliga in northern New South Wales.

A convoy and rally shows support for the Gomeroi traditional owners in their fight against Santos ' Narrabri gas project.A Gomeroi traditional owner has told a rally in Newcastle she expects a "David and Goliath" battle to stop Santos ' multi-billion-dollar gas project.

Gomeroi woman Suellyn Tighe travelled from Coonabarabran to address about 100 people who attended the rally. In March, the Federal Court found the Native Title Tribunal should have allowed evidence on climate change when considering Santos' gas project near Narrabri."Santos will continue to engage constructively with the Gomeroi people and work closely with them to ensure their heritage is protected and they benefit from the project development," it said.
