, chief executive of acquisitive gold giant Newmont, has warned the mining industry about blindly rushing to artificial intelligence technologies without adequate human oversight.
Mr Palmer, an Australian, is head of Denver-based Newmont, which has gold mines from South America to Western Australia, andHis speech argues the mining sector needs to display good values ahead of technological, geopolitical and accountability trends at a time when miners face mounting political and regulatory hurdles to new avenues of production.
