Neymar could miss Paris Saint-Germain’s crucial Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, the forward sharing the protective boot he’s wearing after picking up an injury.
The Brazilian star sustained the knock to his ankle after a rough collision with Lille’s Benjamin Andre. Neymar was subsequently stretchered off the pitch.
Neymar has also had ankle problems in 2018, 2019 and 2021, forcing him to miss Champions League games against Real Madrid and Manchester United. There have been a flurry of rough challenges on Neymar since he moved to Ligue 1 and it has taken its toll on the player, as he often asked for protection from referees.
“Of course, it complicates things and that’s the way it is. We have to keep our heads down. We’re going to do it again, but with a victory. That is more pleasant.”
