'Our guys would come across families who are bereaved through a loved one taking their own life on a weekly basis now'
Ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day this month, a Belfast funeral directors has put its support behind a community campaign to highlight the impacts of mental health.
"Lately though, we are seeing an increase in those numbers, and also an increase in the ages of people who are being so deeply affected by mental health issues. "When it comes down to the day of a funeral, no matter what age, hundreds of people turn out to show their love for that person on the day of the funeral.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Michael Doherty, centre manager at Glen Parent Community Complex said: "There has been a massive decrease in funding to the service, and that is coinciding with an increase of referrals.
