The reports linking him to the NRL have emerged despite him being contracted in the south of France until the end of 2027. However, he wouldn’t become the first player to be granted an early release and depart Catalans before his contract expires. Scoring seven tries in 37 appearances for the side since his arrival, he previously played for the Canberra Raiders and Canterbury Bulldogs .
The 2017 Dally M Rookie of the Year, he exploded onto the scene with 16 tries in his maiden season and went on to play one match for the NSW Blues and appear in two Tests for both the Australian and Serbian national teams. The Brisbane Broncos may lose the trio of Adam Reynolds , Grant Anderson and Payne Haas at the end of the season, but that hasn’t stopped them from securing young utility back Hayze Perham.
Off-contract at the end of the 2026 season, the Broncos are in advanced talks of gifting Perham a one-year extension for the next season, which will see him continue to be the back-up to fullback superstar Reece Walsh, perStill yet to his the prime of his career, the 26-year-old arrived at the club at the start of 2025 but had a cruel start to his tenure at Red Hill. In the club’s maiden pre-season match, he ruptured his ACL, subsequently ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
However, the former Bulldogs, Eels and Warriors back made a successful return and has since appeared in three matches during this year’s campaign.
“I love the staff, I love all the boys and especially the faith that they showed me to sign me midway through a knee reconstruction rehab, was a huge moment for me. “Reece is definitely a character. He probably finished last year in the best form that anyone’s ever been in.
“So, to be around a player like that, even though, he’s a bit younger, he’s a bit cheekier, but to learn off him, it’s amazing. “I’m glad I’ve got to repay the Broncos in some way for standing by me. ”
