Nick Kaldas rules out running for Craig Laundy's seat in fresh blow to Scott Morrison auspol

Former NSW deputy police commissioner Nick Kaldas has dealt a blow to Prime Minister Scott Morrison by rejecting an offer to run for the Liberal Party in the marginal federal seat of Reid.that he knocked back the offer and had told Mr Morrison he did not want to enter politics at the present time.

The Liberal Party also commissioned polling in the seat to gauge recognition and support for Mr Kaldas. Several sources close to Mr Laundy said he wants to leave politics and has told Mr Morrison but the Prime Minister wants to confirm a new candidate for the seat and announce the move at the same time.That move angered local preselectors who had already chosen real estate agent Grant Schultz for the job.NSW Liberals are increasingly frustrated at the delay in securing a candidate for Reid, which the government holds by a margin of 4.7 per cent.
