Three months after leading Central Coast Mariners to a stunning A-League triumph Montgomery has returned to the UK to take over at Hibs.
Nick Montgomery praised Ange Postecoglou for opening the door to the footballing world for A-League bosses as he swept into the hotseat at Hibs last night.
Speaking for first time as Hibs boss on Monday, Montgomery admitted Postecoglou’s two titles with Celtic and success with Yokohama Marinos in Japan following spells in charge at Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar as well as the Socceroos national team has helped shine a light on A-League bosses. “He has had success everywhere he’s been and I have seen him closely. I have played against his teams when I first went out there but I have never coached against him because he had already moved over to Japan. But I’ve followed him closely and been impressed with what he’s achieved.”
