Nick Reece is set to extend his run as Melbourne Lord Mayor after emerging victorious from the city's council election almost two weeks after voting closed.

Mr Reece, who ran on a Team Nick Reece ticket with Roshena Campbell as his deputy, saw off 10 other challengers, including the Greens' mayoral candidate Roxane Ingleton. Mr Reece and Ms Campbell had 23.36 per cent of the first preference vote, ahead of the Greens 14.17 per cent and the Liberals for Melbourne City on 13.64 per cent.
