BREAKING: Despite arguing she was too unwell, disgraced lawyer Nicola Gobbo has been ordered to appear before police informer royal commission.

She argued she was too unwell, suffering a major depressive disorder.She is set to give evidence over the phone in January.Disgraced lawyer-turned-informer Nicola Gobbo has been ordered to face public scutiny and give evidence before the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants.

The mother of two, whose current location is a tightly held secret, has been trying to avoid fronting the commission, with her lawyer Rishi Nathwani arguing she was too physically and mentally unwell.But Commissioner Margaret McMurdo was not persuaded she had a reasonable excuse, and has summonsed her to appear over the phone on January 29 next year.

Despite this, Ms McMurdo said she had "no confidence [that Ms Gobbo] will eventually give evidence before the commission."
