Nicola Sturgeon has done much to ensure the progression of equalities issues and human rights in Scotland.
Those in the anti-trans trenches will, no doubt, be cheering at the news of Sturgeon’s resignation. Predictably, however, that won’t stop them trying to claim her resignation as a prize when nothing could be further from the truth. The reform was a key part of plans to transform trans healthcare and end all conversion practices. Yet the poisonous tone of much of the debate makes it clear that Scotland still has a long way to go on equalities.
