First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon has announced her resignation after eight years, adding she has been struggling with 'conflicting emotions' in recent times.
We will continue to work closely with theThe 52-year-old admitted she had been struggling with “conflicting emotions”.
“And over the last number of weeks, probably since around the turn of the year, I’ve been struggling with just that. “I know that as time passed I would have less and less energy to give to the job. And I can’t do the job on anything other than a 100 per cent basis. The country deserves nothing less than that.”
“My thanks go to @NicolaSturgeon for her long-standing service. I wish her all the best for her next steps,” he said on Twitter.
