However, he has now revealed he does have one regret from his career, and that is eating a live insect for his part in 1988’s Vampire’s Kiss.‘I ate [roaches] twice because the director did it just to prank me,’ he added to co-star Nicholas Hoult, who plays the bug-consuming character this time around in Renfield.
As part of his anticipated transformation, Loew eats a live cockroach, which is exactly what Cage did for his role in the film, no move magic or trickery required. Luckily, Hoult was able to indulge in fake insects at least some of the time when shooting for Renfield, as his character’s supernatural abilities are boosted by creepy-crawlies.
