Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon and her partner Carlos Gu danced a dramatic Tango to Prisoner by Miley Cyrus featuring Dua Lipa for their first performance. Dressed in a pink and red flowing gown, Scanlon twirled her way to a score of 23. Angela Rippon showed off her famous flexibility during her first Strictly routine to secure an impressive score of 28. Donning a silver sparkly fringed dress, the veteran broadcaster performed the Cha-cha with professional partner Kai Widdrington to Get The Party Started by Dame Shirley Bassey. Judge Motsi Mabuse said: “That was a statement, that is how you start a Saturday night.”
Meanwhile, Bad Education star Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin delivered a sensual Samba to Touch by Little Mix. Presenter and comedian Les Dennis donned a shirt and waistcoat for his Tango to Don’t You Want Me by the Human League with his partner Nancy Xu to secure a score of 16. EastEnders star Bobby Brazier then briefly glided his way to a top score of 29 with partner Dianne Buswell following their foxtrot to All About You by McFly. After their routine, which saw them rolling on the ground and delivering quick footwork, head judge Shirley Ballas said the actor’s energy was “absolutely endearing”.
