Nigel Lawson retired from the House of Lords in January
Tributes have started to pour in for the Conservative former chancellor, who was also the father of celebrity chef Nigella Lawson, 63.
“He was a prophet of Brexit and a lover of continental Europe. He was a giant. My thoughts and prayers are with his family," the former Prime Minister added. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said Mr Lawson "was a transformational chancellor and an inspiration to me and many others" in a tweet.
