Nine new cases of coronavirus are confirmed in Tasmania as the state records its third death.
Tasmania has confirmed nine new cases of coronavirus, with eight of the cases related to an outbreak at a north-west coast hospital.
The case in Southern Tasmania relates to a recently returned overseas traveller who was already in home-quarantine in accordance with border control measures.One is from southern Tasmania, and eight are from the north-west. Director of Public Health Mark Vietch said an outbreak management team was already identifying and contacting anyone who had close contact with any of the hospital staff, and it would ensure necessary actions were taken.
"If any NWRH staff member or patient is determined to be a close contact of these cases, they will be contacted and advised of the action they need to take.
