Former British commander Richard Kemp claims peace between Russia and Ukraine will only come from a decision on the battlefield, with one side winning the war.

“Putin can’t possibly, let’s say, return to the pre-February 2022 lines in which he started the invasion,” he told Sky News Australia.

“He can’t do that – he has lost so much of Russia, so many people killed, so much economic damage, so much isolation in the world; he has hugely damaged Russia, he has got to have something to show for it. “And on the other hand, Ukraine, President Zelensky has made it very clear he is not going to submit to Russia and is not going to assign to them any land they have taken in this war.”
