The group was arrested at the end of the second day of shooting when they had wrapped the interviews and were doing some 'last-minute puppetry' in a hallway, according to the late night host.

"Late Show with Stephen Colbert"The decision, made by the U.S. attorney's office in Washington, comes after prosecutors determined they"cannot move forward" with the misdemeanor charges against the nine people arrested June 16 in the Longworth House Office Building. The incident followed the third public hearing by the House panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.

Capitol Police have not publicly identified the people who were arrested. At the time, Colbert said on his show that several of his staff, including Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a puppet that is operated and voiced by comedian and writer Robert Smigel, had been detained.
