Police say no charges will be laid, after investigating comments from independent MP Catherine Cumming, who told a Melbourne rally Premier Daniel Andrews should be turned into 'red mist'.

The report was condemned by several politicians, including Opposition Leader Matthew Guy, who called on Ms Cumming to apologise. On Saturday, police said they were investigating a report of "inciteful behaviour" in the wake of the speech.
