Jetstar passengers flying from Helsinki to the Gold Coast were forced to stay inside Narita Airport for more than 24 hours after their transit flight was delayed due to an engineering issue.

Gordon Knight, who flew from Helsinki to the Gold Coast via Tokyo posted on Twitter to call for assistance after Jetstar Flight JQ0012 was cancelled on Sunday.

Picture: Twitter / Gordon Knight "Due to Covid restrictions we're not allowed to leave the airport or enter hotels. We have no food, water or bedding. We'd appreciate assistance."

"All customers were offered accommodation and meal vouchers and for customers who no longer wished to fly, the option of a full refund was also available," they said in a statement.
