Tom Bundesen has been in some pretty dry gullies in his time, but he's back on the road of life — and working 70 hours a week — after a dislocated knee led to him losing his leg.

After learning to walk again he began looking for work, which he said was difficult, being a 58-year-old amputee Now he works as an Uber driver, a job which he says gives hm a glimpse at people from all walks of life Mr Bundesen worked as a registered nurse for 10 years, but since the loss of his leg he has become a"part-time Uber driver, full-time counsellor."
While working in Peppimenarti, about 300 kilometres south-west of Darwin, Mr Bundesen dislocated his knee — but what he expected to be a simple relocation procedure turned into a series of medical issues.After more than four months of treatment in Darwin in 2014, Mr Bundesen decided it was time to move back home to Rockhampton to be closer to his family.
