Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Ted O’Brien says nuclear energy needs to be “on the table for serious consideration” for Australia to reduce its emissions.
Mr O’Brien said there are few technologies that can “ramp up and ramp down” with a “guaranteed ability”.
“There is no reason why Australia should not have an open discussion about whether or not that should be part of our energy mix,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
