KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s time for Nolan Jones to cash in on the promise that made him Cleveland’s No. 1 prospect two seasons ago. The 24-year-old converted outfielder has been promoted to the Guardians roster and makes his major-league debut Friday in Kansas City.
In a flurry of roster moves prior to the series opener against the Royals, Cleveland recalled Jones and optioned OF Richie Palacios to Triple-A Columbus. The club also activated catcher Austin Hedges from the seven-day concussion injury list and designated backup Sandy Leon for assignment. Reliever Yohan Ramirez, designated for assignment earlier in the week, was traded to Pittsburgh for cash considerations.
