The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors after a zombie virus outbreak destroys the world, starting with a small group before expanding into entire communities. Reedus plays Daryl, the show's breakout character who is not originally in the comics, and has received top billing since the ninth season saw the departure of original leading man Andrew Lincoln. Alongside The Walking Dead, Reedus has had starring roles in The Boondock Saints and the video game Death Stranding.
Filming of the show's final episodes was delayed to accommodate Reedus' recovery time, and his quick clearance indicates the injury wasn't severe enough to push back filming for too long. The Walking Dead is no stranger to injuries on set, with Reedus badly injuring his arm in the fifth season.
