A North Carolina man died Thursday after he wandered away from a remote hunting camp north of Dillingham and experienced hypothermia, Alaska State Troopers said.
. He’s believed to have wandered from camp overnight and was found by his hunting guide several hours later, according to troopers.
The guide administered first aid and called troopers for help around 9:20 a.m. because Jackson was experiencing hypothermia, troopers wrote. The Alaska National Guard responded to the call, but while they were on the way, Jackson became unconscious, troopers said.
