A little boy aged five died on Sunday after a four-wheel-drive vehicle struck him on a northern Sydney suburban street. He is understood to have been on a day out with family.
The child, aged five, was struck by a four-wheel drive vehicle in the Northern Beaches suburb of Collaroy about 1.30pm on Sunday.
After being alerted of the crash, first responders arrived at the Anzac Avenue location - near the intersection with Beach Road - to find the five-year-old badly injured and in a “critical condition”. He was provided immediate medical assistance on the scene but then taken to hospital for further intervention.

He was taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition but died about 6pm that evening,” they said in a statement.The driver of the 4WD Jeep Cherokee, a 77-year-old man, was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital for mandatory alcohol and drug testing.
